In a solenoid diaphragm dosing pump, an electromagnet pushes the diaphragm forward on each pulse to discharge chemical from the pump head, and a spring pulls it back to refill. Flow is set by pulse frequency and stroke length; there are few moving parts, no lubrication and a compact body. This design covers most water treatment and chemical dosing duties across 0.4 to 110 L/h and 1 to 20 bar.

Tekna: The Industry Standard for Water Treatment
The Tekna series is SEKO's most widely used solenoid diaphragm family and is regarded as the reference in the water treatment market. The typical range is 0.4 to 110 L/h with pressure options up to 20 bar; combinations of high pressure at low flow and lower pressure at high flow are separated by model code. That breadth makes it possible to standardise different points of a plant within a single family.
The range runs from constant-flow versions to pulse and 4-20 mA proportional versions. Pulse-input models adjust flow automatically to the contact signal from a water meter, while 4-20 mA models follow an analogue signal from a PLC or controller directly. Models with integrated pH or chlorine measurement and control remove the need for a separate controller.
A PVDF head, PTFE diaphragm and IP65 enclosure are standard, giving long service life on hypochlorite, acid and inhibitor dosing. Ceramic ball valves and FPM or EPDM valve seals are selected to suit the chemical. For cooling towers, boilers and drinking water, Tekna is usually our first recommendation.
Kompact: The Economical, Compact Option
As its name suggests, the Kompact series is an economical solenoid family sized to fit narrow panels and OEM equipment. It is common in small pools, washing machines and simple treatment applications. A one-piece body and simple control panel shorten installation and training time.
Manual and pulse-input versions are available, with a typical flow range of 0.4 to 14 L/h. It is positioned as the economical alternative to Tekna for budget-driven projects. It keeps the same PVDF head and PTFE diaphragm material standard, so it is not behind the higher families on chemical compatibility.
For heavy industrial environments, high cycle counts or advanced communication, Tekna or Kronos is the better long-term choice. Using Kompact on 24/7 heavy process dosing turns the initial saving into consumable and downtime cost within a few years.
Invikta: The New-Generation User Experience
Invikta is SEKO's current-generation solenoid family, built around a large display, an intuitive menu and fast commissioning. The typical flow range is 0.4 to 54 L/h with pressure up to 16 bar. Flow, mode and alarm status are readable at a glance on the display, which noticeably reduces the time maintenance staff spend at the pump.
Multi-mode operation (manual, pulse, 4-20 mA and ppm mode) is combined in one unit; in ppm mode the pump calculates the target dose itself from water meter data, which greatly simplifies commissioning. The operator enters only the target concentration and chemical strength; the pump handles the strokes-per-pulse calculation and the risk of overdosing from a calculation error falls.
Replacing old constant-flow pumps with Invikta in modernisation projects delivers measurable savings in chemical consumption. A constant-flow pump doses the same amount even in low-consumption hours, whereas a pump in ppm mode tracks real water consumption and doses only what is needed.
Kronos: Digital Control and Communication
The Kronos family is the top-segment series for applications that need advanced digital control and communication such as Modbus. It stands out in plants requiring process traceability and SCADA integration. Flow setting, alarm status and total dosed quantity can be read from the central system and setpoints changed remotely.
With dual level input, flow verification (flow sensor) and statistics functions, it is possible to prove that dosing actually took place, which is valuable for audits in drinking water and food plants. The flow verification sensor raises an alarm when the pump runs dry because the chemical drum has emptied or the suction line has drawn air.

Material Compatibility and Accessories: The Step After Choosing a Family
Once the family is chosen, the compatibility of pump head, diaphragm and valve materials with the chemical must be confirmed. A PVDF head and PTFE diaphragm are the standard choice for sodium hypochlorite, sulphuric and hydrochloric acid, caustic and most inhibitors. FPM valve seals are preferred for acids and oxidisers, EPDM for caustic and alkaline media; the wrong seal swells and leaks within months.
Accessories are part of dosing safety. The injection valve prevents line pressure from backing into the pump and ensures the chemical mixes into the line; a foot filter and level switch on the suction line signal when the drum runs empty. On high back-pressure or long lines, a pressure-holding valve and pulsation damper preserve dosing accuracy.
For gassing chemicals such as sodium hypochlorite, the automatic bleed head option prevents gas locking. This option is available in the Tekna and Invikta families and removes the most common failure cause in hypochlorite dosing.
