Elektrik Motorları ve Redüktör

Electric motors and gearboxes are the fundamental power-transmission equipment that convert electrical energy into mechanical rotary motion and reduce it to the required torque and speed ratio, used in many industrial applications such as pumps, fans, conveyors, valve actuators and general machine drives. In this group, Vanera offers three-phase, single-phase, explosion-proof (certified for hazardous areas) and marine-type electric motors along with gearboxes suited to them; we determine the right motor-gearbox combination together based on your application's power, speed and ambient conditions.

Three-Phase and Single-Phase Electric Motors

Three-phase electric motors are the most widely used motor type in industrial plants; thanks to their high efficiency, balanced torque output and low maintenance needs, they are preferred for driving pumps, fans, compressors and conveyors. Single-phase motors, on the other hand, are used in low-power applications without a three-phase mains connection, such as residential or light commercial equipment.

Motor selection takes into account power (kW/HP), speed (RPM), protection class (IP rating), insulation class and duty cycle (continuous/intermittent); a motor suited to the application's load profile reduces unnecessary energy consumption and the risk of failure.

Explosion-Proof and Marine-Type Electric Motors

Explosion-proof electric motors are manufactured with a special enclosure and certification to eliminate the risk of ignition from sparks or surface temperature in environments containing flammable gas or dust (petrochemical, refinery, chemical plants, grain silos, etc.); selecting a model appropriate to the relevant ATEX/IECEx zone classification is mandatory.

Marine-type electric motors are built with corrosion-resistant materials and enclosure designs to withstand the humidity, salt water and vibration found on ships and offshore platforms, and are generally approved by the relevant marine classification societies. These two special types ensure safe, long-lasting operation in demanding environments where standard industrial motors fall short.

Adjusting Speed and Torque with a Gearbox

A gearbox converts an electric motor's high-speed/low-torque output into the low-speed/high-torque values required by the application. Gearbox selection takes into account the motor's power and speed, the desired output speed, the required torque, the reduction ratio and the direction of operation (unidirectional/bidirectional); different gearbox types such as helical, worm and planetary are chosen based on the application's efficiency and size requirements.

Correctly sizing the motor and gearbox together ensures efficient, quiet and long-lasting operation of the driven equipment, whether a pump, conveyor, mixer or valve actuator.
